Involved aptitudes

This test is designed to screen your dexterity and your hand-feet coordination. It is especially fitted to prepare for the COMPASS (experienced pilot). If you are an ab-initio pilot, please refer to the basic coordination COMPASS test.

Rules

With the right joystick or the arrow keys, control the PFD so as to center the flight director (pink cross). This will center your heading and altitude (pink bugs) at the same time. With the vertical left joystick axis or the S/X keys control the speed so as to center the speed target (pink bug). Besides, push the rudder to keep the ball centered.

About gamepads

For your comfort you can practice this test either with a real gamepad, or with the virtual on-screen gamepad, or with your keyboard. However, in order to get the best of your training we do recommend that you acquire a joystick in order to recreate in the most realistic manner the conditions you will face on exam day.

More details

At the exam, you will take this test with two joysticks and rudder pedals. The right joystick controls PFD, the left joystick (vertical axis) controls the speed. The rudder controls the ball. We invite you to acquire a rudder control such as a TFRP THRUSTMASTER and two joysticks in order to train in realistic conditions.
